The Man Who Redefined Luxury Skincare
111Skin is one of the fastest-growing global skincare brands. Globally renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. Yannis Alexandrides, born in Athens, Greece founded 111SKIN, to bring London’s Harley Street to your home with luxurious skincare that replicates in-clinic treatments. A collaboration with space scientists who researched the acceleration of aging in astronauts, the medically inspired range is engineered using the most advanced methods and ingredients for the highest levels of efficacy. Each formula carefully addresses specific skincare concerns that Dr. Alexandrides sees daily, such as premature aging, spot-prone skin, lackluster complexions, hyperpigmentation, and dehydration.
We have sat down with Dr. Yannis Alexandrides to find more about him and how he managed to penetrate the beauty industry that is organically endorsed by the likes of Margot Robbie, Bella Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Kim Kardashian without paying for a single endorsement.
What inspired you to become a doctor?
I think it has a lot to do with my family’s careers - My father is a Cardiologist, my mother is a Microbiologist and both my sister and brother-in-law are Ophthalmologists. I grew up around science and medicine; it was inevitable that I would follow this path too!
How did your skincare line come to be?
As a surgeon, my primary goal has always been to ensure the very best results for my patients – this includes doing extensive research into formulas that can be used for the reparation of skin trauma, whether from surgery or clinical procedures. We provided clients with these formulas (post-procedure) to assist with healing and noticed that they kept coming back for more.
We developed our range of products based off these formulas and from there NAC Y2 was born! NAC Y2 is a complex that includes a trio of actives with superior antioxidant capabilities, one of which stimulates the production of Glutathione – the body’s most powerful intracellular antioxidant. The superior results included epidermal strengthening, scar reduction and a more youthful appearance.
Used as the core of every product in the Reparative range and included in several other ranges, NAC Y2 has come to embody the principal of 111Skin.
What skincare routine do you follow yourself?
I always begin my routine with a cleanser and ours are ahead of the game! The Vitamin C Cleanser ensures dead skin cells are exfoliated away, leaving me a good base for my routine. As I shave on a weekly basis, I like to use the Antioxidant Energising Essence as my second step to sooth the skin. On weeks where my skin is feeling dull and lacking a youthful appearance, I follow this up with the Firming Concentrate, a product new to our collection that has fitted into my routine perfectly. Our Celestial Black Diamond serum is infused with Hyaluronic Acid, so I like to use this as my next step to hydrate and retain moisture in my skin. Finally, I finish off my routine with the ATP Booster, just a few drops of this concentrated formula is enough to smooth, tighten and energise the skin.
Are there any beauty treatments you love to indulge in?
Personally, I can’t live without Cryotherapy – It has a vast array of physical and mental benefits and is an effective tool for managing pain and can alleviate swelling with its anti-inflammatory response. We believe in the aesthetic benefits so much, we created a range of products which mimic the effect of sub-zero conditions on skin, the 111SKIN Regenerative Collection.
What do you think is the worst ingredient, that people should avoid in their skincare products?
I personally stay away from stripping ingredients like Glycolic Acid for both personal use and use in our products – The molecular size is too small to neutralisie and it continues to eat away at the skin after usage.
Should men be using skincare products?
Of course, everyone should be using skincare! It is vital to look after your skin to avoid future issues such as wrinkles, sun damage, lack of elasticity, pigmentation, dehydration and fragility.
What is next for Dr. Yannis Alexandrides?
I hope to continue improving my surgical results and the satisfaction of my patients in the surgeries that I perform. I'd like to continue to grow the recognition of my other businesses which includes 111Skin. I believe that this is a very important dimension of my career as it allows me to reach out to a lot more people than my plastic surgery office can.
What is next for 111SKIN?
To continue growing both our team and our product lines – exciting things are to come! It’s important to find the right people to build your team with the right talents, knowledge and experience. Make sure they understand your brand’s core values and continuously support them and then, listen to them and provide them recognition they deserve in the company. Then, it’s about staying focused.
Which destination is top of your list?
As we haven’t been able to travel for leisure over the past year, my home country Greece is at the top of my list – We spend time with our friends and family, eating well, hiking, swimming and most importantly laughing all the time.

I always begin my day with some deep breathing and stretching – especially if I’ve been operating the day before. I then spend quality time with my wife and kids, we love to be outdoors!
